Welcome to this very exciting conversation with Brian Orme! We talk about our Identity in Christ, the meaning of “Mystic”, Supernatural Prayer, and the centrality of Joy in our relationship with God!
Imagine asking God, “What’s on your heart Father? What’s on your mind?” And then have him give you a vision of the location of a Cartel in Mexico and asking you to pray for their capture. A week later you see their capture reported on the news!
Tim Wright is a Prophetic Singer/Songwriter. We thought we were going to do a talk entitled: “How to Wright a Prophetic Song with Tim Wright”, but it turned out to be an Inner Healing Session instead.
Tim and I start out by talking about the importance and centrality of Joy in our spirituality and we share some of our favorite Scriptures on the topic. We then dive deep and talk about our inner pain and struggles with feeling rejection and abandonment. Even in the middle of our depression and “going through hell”, Jesus never left us or forsakes us.
Nancy and I are joining with Jesus to build bridges with the New Age tribe. Nancy came out of the New Age community and found true life, forgiveness and grace, deliverance from torment, and intimacy with God. You can too!
I had told Nancy how much I questioned the approach toward the New Age that many (Steven Bancarz in perticular) have taken. It seems to me it is the complete opposite approach Jesus is leading me to take. Some come with the burning bridges approach of “everything is evil” while I am hearing from Jesus that he wants to affirm what those in the New Age do have right and build bridges. He wants to give the “New Age” community a big hug and bring them into the Kingdom. And tend to think that many who consider themselves new age will experience the Kingdom long before most “Christians” will!
About Steven Bancarz, he’s doing what he’s gotta do I guess. He had a huge new age platform so it was natural for him to come out like he did. Rough and raw, he needed to tell the world about his freedom and warn others about the lies. I give him a lot of slack.
It’s confusing, because as we said, new age/Satan uses some of the same words as we do. He’s a copy cat. Steven’s video on mystics for example. The word mystic means something different in new age.
It was a hard road for me not to feel danger in certain words. And since it’s our words that release life or death, ex new agers reject the ones that caused death to them.
Oh God is so good! Glory! I really love words, the true meanings, the roots, the Hebrew and Greek!!! It’s wonderful to have my mind renewed! Thank you Jesus … YOU are the word of God (word- divine expression) ohhhh GLORY to You my God
Because new age is intellectual, the demonic experiences in the words become etched in the mind of an ex new ager and they need lots of renewing! New age touched everything in my life! It was a “new” way of thinking about everything! When I had my bon fire everything went. When you come out of new age your eyes are open to truth and to the demons! They had fun trying to scare me! Lurking, sneering, mocking. It was crazy. Yeah, I didn’t have to look for a demon under every bush they were in my face! Ha!
Most Christians refuse to listen to me when I warn them about dabbling in new age. It’s so hard to watch them when they slowly get deceived or lukewarm. These intellectual demons draw people away by their lust for knowing. In God, in Christ, are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The anointing teaches us all things so nobody needs to teach us. Woohooo!
When I came out of new age and into the church folks were asking me about vitamins and herbs and I had to tell them it was like opening a Pandora’s box for me. I knew herbs and vitamins were not bad, but God was directing my mind to spiritual healing. We could spend the rest of our lives seeking truth about healing and mental/emotional stability with natural things and psychology when Jesus already did it! Boom! done! That’s who I am now!! Yippie!
Col. 3. If you are risen with Christ, seek those things that are above where Christ sits at the right hand of God. Set you affection (exercise the mind) on things above, not on things on the earth. Exercise the mind…..hmmm yes
I’d rather partake of the leaves of the tree of life to heal the nations. I like to do that! It’s very exciting!
Moving on to a fresh word of God for today! LOL
There are The greater works That take more than one person to do No more ONE MAN SHOWS Jesus sent folks out two by two God will give us That other person Like a spouse We will procreate Releasing His life on earth Making all things new
Catherine Lovett interviews Eden Jersak regarding her inspiring story about discovering Identity and healing through intimate conversations with Papa and Jesus. God is always good and loving. Our interactions will ALWAYS reflect this. Enjoy!
Catherine (a cohost here on Sozo Talk Radio) and I, Daniel, sat down to discuss the importance and role of dreams and to share a few prophetic dreams with you. Catherine is a teacher and laid out some great wisdom regarding dreams in the beginning of this episode. This is not for the fast food spiritual junkies. We pray you enjoy spending some time with us on this most important and fun topic.
Job 33:14-18 New Living Translation (NLT)
14 For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. 15 He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. 16 He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. 17 He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride. 18 He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death.
Below is the Scripture that Catherine felt led to share regarding her profound dream she shared:
1 Peter 5 (TPT)
5 Now, I encourage you as an elder, an eyewitness of the sufferings of Christ, and one who shares in the glory that is about to be unveiled. I urge my fellow elders among you 2 to be compassionate shepherds who tenderly care for God’s flock and who feed them well, for you have the responsibility to guide, protect, and oversee. Consider it a joyous pleasure and not merely a religious duty. Lead from the heart under God’s leadership—not as a way to gain finances dishonestly but as a way to eagerly and cheerfully serve. 3 Don’t be controlling tyrants[c but lead others by your beautiful examples to the flock.
Her dream she shares is not to be missed and has such a vital message for the Next Great Awakening! Stay tuned and Subscribe for more on Dreams and Visions!
Thanks for listening. This is the most epic Night Owl Bible Study thus far.
Live broadcast on Facebook and Youtube @ 9:30 pm CST on nights that I can.
I really appreciate the interaction with others and the questions people may have. I am not the answer guy. I don’t like or take that approach.
This all began because I wanted to marinate my mind more in the Scriptures and invite others into the journey of ever deepening friendship with God and with each other. As you will discover in this episode, there isn’t much of a difference.
Note on Elohim: Plural form of God. Whenever we read “God” in Scriptures it refers to Elohim – a plurality of God who is One.
I propose a real viable plan for World Peace! Flood the World With Forgiveness! Much can be learned from the Reconciliation Courts in South Africa post Apartheid. Many such stories in this conversation.
Interview With Brian Zahnd
Brian Zhand is a full time pastor, author, and would be mountaineer and is the founder and lead pastor of Word of Life Church, a non-denominational Christian congregation in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Brian has authored several books, including: Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God, Water to Wine, A Farewell To Mars, Beauty Will Save the World, and Unconditional?: The Call of Jesus to Radical Forgiveness and, most recently, Postcards From Babylon.
The Call of Jesus to Radical Forgiveness
What is one of the most moving examples of forgiveness you have encountered?
One of the phrases that most stood out to me in this book Unconditional was that Jesus and the apostles were focused on us becoming Christian, not becoming a Christian.
How do we become Christian? To become a true follower of the Way of Jesus?
How would you define forgiveness? What does it even mean? What is Jesus asking us to do to forgive 70 x 7?
I loved all the examples you shared from more recent history:
Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu found a way to live out the Lords Prayer on a national level. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Page 81
Reminds me of the Scripture, “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion..” Proverbs 28:13 NASB
Pope John Paul forgiving the man who shot him and visiting his brother in prison.
The Amish of Nickel Mines visiting the wife of the murderer offering comfort.
Corrie Ten Boom facing one of her captors from the concentration camp in Ravensbruck. She was in Munich Germany sharing a message about forgiveness and one of the cruelest guards from the camp came forward after her talk. Read Page 32
How do we teach our children to turn the other cheek?
I have a friend Bill Vanderbush who wrote a book called Reckless Grace (Check out that Interview HERE) based primarily on a verse you highlighted in the final pages of Unconditional:
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 2If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:21-23 NLT

We will be studying the Gospel of John out of the Passion Translation. I have interviewed Brian Simmons on Sozo Talk Radio! It is one of the episodes I encourage people to listen to more than most. Why? Because the Bible is an important part of our spiritual journey. The Bible is an introduction into this wonderful relationship we can enjoy with God. It points to Jesus.
I am reminded of the Scripture where it says, “Christ, who is your life…”
“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.”
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
Todd White & Lifestyle Christianity
Below is a documentary movie about Todd White and Lifestyle Christianity:
Todd White was a big inspiration to Randy’s transformation. It began with a challenge Jesus gave him to share “Jesus loves you” with a stranger everyday. At first this seemed incredibly awkward but his commitment soon grew to praying with people at least once a week. Soon it grew to become a lifestyle.
Randy shares the four pillars of this lifestyle:
“Presence, Power, Truth, & Love”
Randy has also been influenced by Todd White’s mentor Dan Mohler. Below is a video hosted by Lifestyle Christianity on Youtube:
Dan Mohler often teaches about living out of our identity in Christ and Christ being formed in you as we radically love others. Randy and I discussed some of his messages about not succumbing to the black hole of self pity. Randy emphasizes that it is okay to grieve the losses and wounds that were never supposed to happen, but also to have the maturity to not wallow in it. We must learn to forgive what needs forgiving and move on into victory!
There were so many other amazing things that Randy and I discuss including witnessing miracles and healings. Tell me what you think of this interview and I invite you to peruse some of the other interviews on this website.
“The cross is not what God inflicts upon Christ in order to forgive. The cross is what God endures in Christ as he forgives.”
Remarkable, Isn’t it? This rings true for me yet I realize it challenges the way some have interpreted the meaning of the cross. I think this is because many have confused ideas about the meaning of the cross. Many of our ideas are based on assumptions and false teaching and not on a full understanding of how the whole of Scripture reveal and interpret the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.
Instead of pretending that this confusion about the cross isn’t a theologically widespread pandemic I am going to be as honest as I can about the problem. To the best of my knowledge, a large percentage of Western Christianity for the past 500 years has been infected. Calvin was trained as a lawyer in the 1500’s and at the age of twenty seven invented a particular way of interpreting the cross which has been dubbed penal substitution atonement theory. There are famous preachers today who have large influential ministries who preach Calvin’s ideas about the meaning of the cross.
What is God Like?
What God is like is one of the big questions that are raised when we look at what the cross means and what exactly happened and where the Father was and what his role in the whole affair was.
Of course to most of you this seems obvious, but this isn’t something I grew up with in the Christian church. In my mind, Jesus was different and separate from the Father.
God the Father seemed like an impossible to please Monster that Jesus came to broker a deal with on behalf of humanity. The idea is that Jesus came to change God’s mind about us – that Jesus came to pay off this angry God with the blood sacrifice that this “God of wrath” demanded. This was the profound lie I absorbed by osmosis growing up in the Western Christian church. In fact this heresy has a name: Penal Substitution Atonement Theory.
Penal Substitution Atonement Theory
Unfortunately this heretical lie is preached by well meaning but confused pastors all over America. Many pastors might even hear the challenge to this heresy and double down with the lie, further entrenching people in confusion and fear. I have seen this happen first hand!
Those within the movement to expose the problems of Penal Substitutionary Atonement Theory have been very gentle, kind, and sympathetic to its adherents. C. Baxter Kruger in his thesis God in the Hands of Angry Sinners quotes George MacDonald:
“Good souls many will one day be horrified at the things they now believe of God.”
“There’s a lot of foolishness in that idea that we call penal substitutionary atonement. The idea that God was abandoning or punishing his own Son in order to pay off his anger. That is absolute hogwash and the biggest heresy of the western world. It’s not biblical. The early church never believed the ridiculous idea that Jesus was saving us from God. This idea has nothing to do with the ancient faith of the early church fathers. Most importantly this idea does injustice to the Trinity…”
Below is a more in depth presentation of the topic:
Monster God Debate
Brian and I discuss Penal Substitution and Zahnds role in exposing what John Crowder has, in my opinion, quite rightly dubbed a heresy. He has went head to head with Dr. Michael Brown over this issue in a debate entitled Monster God Debate.
Dr. Michael Brown seems to have built much of his ministry around debates and being the guy who “answers all your questions”. I’m sure he has a great deal of good things to say in general, but, in my opinion, his contribution to the content of this Monster debate, which I’m safe to assume he perpetrated, is not among them.
